About me

I do find feet fascinating. The fact that you can map the entire human body through reflexes on the feet is just amazing.

But there’s more to me than that…

Hi I'm Joanna

Reflexologist and busy mum.

I’m lucky enough to live by the River Ure, here in North Yorkshire, with my witty yet very useful partner Matt, my adventurous and musical daughter Tomasin, our dogs, Paddy & Beatrice, a cat and a rabbit.

I own too many notebooks and planners and I wish our house was as organised as my week. We have lots to do here. It’s a fixer-upper and have many plans.

This year’s challenge is to get our garden prepared as a small glamping site and we are currently renovating the outdoor shower room. When I’m not working, you’ll find me spade in hand or chopping logs.

I am currently writing up my case studies for the Facial Reflexology Course Module 2, which I completed in September, 2023.

Later, I hope to broaden my knowledge and study areas of maternity reflexology, Reflexology for menopause and reflexology for lymph drainage.

About me - outside of work

Interests

There just isn’t enough time in the day...

I love making things, from my own aroma therapy candles to little wooden bird houses, fabric door stops or Christmas reindeer out of twigs.

Cooking and baking are a big part of my family life and I love the opportunity to be creative. Especially when this involves chocolate.

I like to read for relaxation, even better if I’m learning something new about reflexology or how to crochet or knit.

And coffee. I love coffee.

Values

Values are important to me both in daily life and through my work.

Be honest.

Find the fun and adventure.

Learn and try new things.

Take care of your body and mind through self-care.

Look for what’s good.

Be kind. We don’t know what struggles others are going through.

Hygge.

Look after our world. Compost, re-use and recycle.

Activities

I love to keep active, and my feet get a pretty rough time. I take daily walks with our golden retriever Paddington and Cockerpoo Beatrice. We cover lots of steps together and run together too.

I also enjoy weights and yoga. Both are bare feet activities which can be quite demanding.

Lately, we have taken up paddle boarding as a family, which I’m finding a very relaxing and mindful sport, although it can really take it’s toll on my feet. Standing in one position for a long time is hard on muscles and circulation.
